Labrie Asaro
Dance Instructor
Labrie French-Asaro is a trained dancer, performer, and choreographer in the arts of ballet, tap, jazz, and lyrical dance. She began studying dance and gymnastics as a toddler at Terry Clark Dance Centres and Clovis Academy. Since the age of 15, she has instilled the love of dance to children, teens, and adults through her work with several Central and Southern California based dance companies. Some of her achievements include performing with the professional dance company Danceline, dancing in the “Disco Abs featuring Cheryl Burke" project, and performing in “The Nutcracker” with a reputable Northern California ballet company. She has also choreographed and performed for several fairs, pageants, and festivals in both Fresno and San Diego. Labrie has studied under some of the finest instructors and choreographers New York, Los Angeles, and Japan have to offer, including Luigi, Al Gilbert, Henry LeTang, Darryl Retter, Kit Andre, and Thommie Walsh. One of her favorite memories is dancing alongside her mentor and the late great Luigi, Godfather of Jazz, at his studio in New York City. Labrie has also danced competitively all over California, winning numerous awards both as a soloist and group performer. Some of her students have gone on to perform with the San Diego Chargers, Kids Bop, San Diego Dance Theatre, and in pop music groups. She believes in helping her students develop a strong technical foundation essential for growth and safety across all dance genres. This includes focus on proper body alignment, stretching, balance, coordination, memorization, and musicality. In addition to her creative talents, Labrie is a licensed psychotherapist, wife, and mom. She has a passion for people, creative expression, and bringing joy through dance!
