About Artists Out Youth Dance Company

Artists Out is a youth dance company built on bold expression, artistic freedom, and the power of movement to tell meaningful stories.

Created as a space for dancers ages 5–18 to discover and develop their voices, Artists Out is where creativity thrives and individuality is celebrated. Here, young dancers step into their power through dynamic training, original choreography, and the courage to perform with purpose.

Our name says it all — we’re here to bring the artist out:

Dancers in our company train in a variety of styles, including ballet, acro, contemporary, hip hop, jazz, modern, lyrical, musical theater, and improvisation, with a strong focus on self-expression, storytelling, and collaboration. Beyond technique, we nurture confidence, leadership, and the joy of dancing from the inside out.

Age Divisions & Time Commitments

Mini

Ages 4-6

Introductory level for very young dancers.
Focus on creative movement, basic motor skills, rhythm, and having fun.
Must participate in at least 1 ballet class and 1 dance technique class.
Will perform in 1–2 competitions to gain performance experience.

Petite

Ages 6-8

Dancers continue learning foundational technique in styles like ballet, jazz, and tap.
Emphasis on coordination, technique, and performing simple combinations.
Must participate in 1 ballet class, 1 dance technique or jazz class, 1 acro class, and 1 class in the same style as their competition routines.
Will perform in group routines and attend all company competitions and nationals.

Junior

Ages 9-11

For dancers who have developed foundational technique and are ready to handle more complex choreography and performance expectations.
Dancers should demonstrate control, clean lines, and emerging artistry, while confidently executing formations, level changes, and synchronized group movement.
Will have the option to audition for solos, duos, or trios, allowing them to further develop individual performance skills and stage presence.
Must participate in 2 ballet classes, 1 dance technique or jazz class, 1 turns & leaps class, and 1 class in the same style as their competition routines.
Will perform in all company competitions & nationals

Teen

Ages 12-14

For dancers who have developed foundational technique and show stronger technical ability and performance maturity.
Dancers should demonstrate control, clean lines, and emerging artistry, while confidently executing formations, level changes, and synchronized group movement.
Will have the option to audition for solos, duos, or trios, allowing them to further develop individual performance skills and stage presence.
Must participate in 2 ballet classes, 1 dance technique or jazz class, 1 turns & leaps class, and 1 class in the same style as their competition routines.
Will perform in all company competitions & nationals

Senior

Ages 15-19

For senior dancers who have developed strong foundational technique and show exceptional technical ability and performance maturity.
Dancers should demonstrate control, clean lines, and emerging artistry, while confidently executing formations, level changes, and synchronized group movement.
Will have the option to audition for solos, duos, or trios.
May take on leadership roles or assist younger dancers.
Must participate in 2 ballet classes, 1 dance technique or jazz class, 1 turns & leaps class, and 1 class in the same style as their competition routines.
Will perform in all company competitions & nationals
